Wenatchee Tops Spokane 102-81

Kai Knell led five Wenatchee Valley players in double figures and the Knights used 25 Spokane turnovers to beat the Sasquatch 102-81 in NWAACC basketball Saturday.

Kyle York scored 21 points for Community Colleges of Spokane, but committed six turnovers. Mark Hegbloom added 17 points and seven rebounds. Sasquatch forward Kris Hampton did not return, injuring an ankle early.

Spokane cut Wenatchee Valley’s 50-36 halftime lead to six, but the Knights scored consecutive baskets off turnovers.

“Tonight we shoot 47 percent - not too bad on the road - but turned it over far too much,” Spokane coach Sam Brasch said.Spokane plays Wednesday night at 8 against Big Bend at Spokane Falls Community College.
