Clinton Plans Visit Before Caucuses

From Staff And Wire Reports

President Clinton reportedly will visit Seattle Feb. 24, 10 days before Washington’s March 5 Republican and Democratic precinct caucuses.

The visit would be Clinton’s seventh to the Northwest since he became president, and would follow two stops earlier that day in California. He would fly back to Washington, D.C., that night.

The planned visit was reported Thursday by the Seattle PostIntelligencer, citing unidentified sources close to Clinton’s reelection campaign.

No firm itinerary has been set, the P-I reported, but Clinton is expected to hold what one adviser called “an education event.” The president, for example, recently toured a public school’s computer center in New Hampshire.

Washington holds a presidential primary March 26.
