College Basketball Tonight

ISU, BSU at Eastern Washington

EWU (2-17, 0-7) makes its second and final television appearance of the season when Idaho State (7-11, 3-4) visits Reese Court for tonight’s Big Sky Conference matchup. Boise State (10-9, 6-1) visits Saturday night. Both games begin at 7:05.

At a glance: The Eagles try to build on Saturday night’s laudable, if disappointing, showing at Missoula, where they battled Montana evenly before disappearing in the final seconds of a 71-70 loss. Idaho State also owns a close victory over EWU, having survived an 81-78 scare in Pocatello last month. Injuries and crime have robbed Bengals’ roster, which was down to six scholarship players in Feb. 3 home loss to Boise State. Starting guard Shabaka Lands (10.3 ppg, 6.1 apg, 2.8 spg) is latest casualty, suspended indefinitely after marijuana arrest.

Leaders: Idaho State: Nate Green, 13.3 ppg, 6.1 rpg; Rob Preston, 12.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg. Boise State: Joe Wyatt, 12.8 ppg; Phil Rodman, 4.7 rpg; J.D. Huleen, 4.7 rpg. EWU: D’mitri Rideout, 11.7 ppg; Adam Dean, 6.1 rpg.

TV: Tonight’s game televised by PSN, Cox Cable channel 24 in Spokane; Saturday night’s game not televised. Radio: Both games on KSBN (1230 AM) with Larry Weir, 25 minutes before tipoff.

Whitworth at Linfield/Willamette

The sixth-ranked Pirates (16-4, 8-2) embark on legs two and three of this week’s road trips to face the Wildcats (10-10, 7-3) and Bearcats (8-12, 2-8) today and Saturday. Both games are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

At a glance: Whitworth is coming off a 73-70 road win against Whitman on Tuesday. Last month, Whitworth destroyed Linfield at the Whitworth Fieldhouse, 96-65. Since then, the Wildcats have won five of seven. The Bearcats, on the other hand, have nearly fallen to ground zero. Once ranked No. 8 in the country, Willamette is tied with Whitman for last in conference. Whitworth beat Willamette at Spokane 60-47 last month.

Radio: KSBN (1230 AM), tape-delayed with Todd Pickett
