NEW FACES:

Patrick Waer has joined the Spokane office of Piper Jaffray Inc. as an investment executive. Waer, who received a bachelor’s degree in history from Washington State University, previously worked in industrial sales for Familian Northwest.

Marlene Niemeier, formerly assistant vice president and senior loan officer with CoBank, has joined Source Capital Corp. as a loan officer. Niemeier holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in international and public management, and is an adjunct faculty member at Whitworth College.

Telect Inc. has hired Kirk Hansen as industrial account manager. Hansen is responsible for developing industrial sales for the control products group. Prior to joining Telect, Hansen worked on a communications project at Washington State University for Johnson Controls.

Julie Mantyla, formerly with Kofmehl Management, has joined Kiemle and Hagood Co., as assistant property manager in the residential management division.

Victoria Erickson has joined Dakotah Direct Inc. as public relations and information manager. Erickson has more than 17 years of experience in the advertising and marketing industry and was most recently with The Rockey Co. as head of design services.

Deni Linhart has joined Steinley’s Photochart in Coeur d’Alene. Linhart, associated with Fine Image Photography, has more than 25 years experience in portrait photography.

Roger Reser has been named president of Mental Mountain Climbers Inc. He was formerly a teacher and national trainer for World Book Educational Program. Reser will offer interactive workshops on parenting, listening, speaking and communicating skills as well as sales psychology and motivational talks.

Tom Stebbins, former Washington State University athletic marketing director, has been named executive director of El Katif Shrine. Stebbins will oversee various Shrine fund-raising events for Shriners Hospital and the local fraternity plus various membership activities for the organization. He was most recently assistant athletic director at Michigan State University.

United Security Bank has named Michael Hansen manager of the bank’s Colville branch. Hansen has more than 15 years of banking experience and previously was vice president and banking center manager with Bank One, Colorado.

MOVING UP:

Sterling Savings Association has promoted Nancy McDaniel to assistant vice president of its private banking department. McDaniel joined Sterling in 1994 and has held various management positions in commercial lending, operations, sales and business development. Prior to joining Sterling, she was assistant vice president/branch manager for another financial institution.

David Schmitt has been named branch manager of the Norwest Financial office at 7446 N. Division. Schmitt joined Norwest Financial in 1994 as a credit manager at another office on North Argonne. He was named assistant manager last year.

TRANSACTIONS:

MacKelvie Advertising Inc., owned by Douglas “Pat” McKelvie, and Barton Advertising, owned by Douglas Barton, have merged to form MacKelvie Barton Advertising. MacKelvie Barton is a full-service agency, responsible for account management, creative ideas, print and broadcast production and all media buying for its clients.

Judy Haas and Sandy Benson have purchased the Diet Center at 12 E. Rowan, suite L-1. The Diet Center is a personalized weight loss program.

STARTING UP:

Retirement Plan Specialists L.L.C. has been formed by Eric Carlson, Colleen Hastings and Nancy Mitchem, all previously with Phenneger and Morgan Inc. They will specialize in the design, administration and complexities associated with all types of retirement plans.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Bank of Latah has been designated to serve as a Certified Lender for guaranteed programs of the Farm Service Agency (FSA). This designation prequalifies the bank to process and service guaranteed farm operating loans under FSA’s Certified Lender Program.

Guy Corrado, broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Corrado Realty, has earned his Faststart instructor status. Corrado has experience in education, teaching both in Seattle and for the Mead School district.
