Osu Starts Slow, Still Downs UW
Tanja Kostic scored 23 points and Anette Mollerstrom 20 and No. 16 Oregon State overcame a miserable start to beat Washington 78-72 Saturday in the Pac-10.
Oregon State (16-4, 8-3 Pac-10) swept its first season series against Washington since 1983. It was the third straight conference loss for Washington (12-10, 6-5).
Oregon State trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half as Washington dominated the boards 33-15.
OSU pulled away in the second half, making 18 of 26 shots. Boky Vidic’s jump shot tied it 44-44 with 15:24 left, and the lead changed hands five times before Mollerstrom’s 3 made it 60-58 with 7:13 left.
