Donations Sought For Kara Claypool Memorial

Willard Elementary School is collecting donations for a memorial to Kara Claypool, a 7-year-old Willard student who died of AIDS last summer.

The school’s staff want to dedicate a corner of the library to the girl’s memory, said Principal Gene Wooley.

Donations will go toward a child-sized rocking chair and a collection of library books. A photograph of Kara, a quilt and a plaque listing the names of two other children who died while attending Willard also will be displayed.
