Intruders Wound Pair With Shotgun

Two men were shot Friday afternoon at a downtown Spokane apartment building and one victim may lose a hand, police said.

Spokane police Sgt. Wally Cusick said two white men dressed in black broke into a room at the Del Mar Apartments, 111 W. Third, and shot the two victims with a sawed-off shotgun before fleeing the building about 3:20 p.m.

“Witnesses have stated they both ran out,” Cusick said.

Police weren’t sure of a motive for the shooting. Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries, Cusick said.

The victims are “being a bit elusive,” Cusick said.
