Rjr Shareholders Vote On Plan To Split

Compiled From Wire Services

Supporters of a proposal urging RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp. to quickly separate its food operations from its tobacco holdings said Friday they expected to announce results next week.

Financiers Bennett S. LeBow and Carl Icahn have been drumming up support for more than a month for the non-binding proposal, and RJR shareholders had until the end of Thursday to send back cards putting them on record in favor of the resolution.

LeBow’s Brooke Group Ltd. said Friday afternoon it was still processing the returns but expects to announce the vote count on Tuesday.
