CV Endures Unbearable Loss

By a slim margin, Auburn beat Central Valley for the Class AAA state championship at Mat Classic VIII Saturday.

A controversial semifinal loss staggered the Bears, who then watched Auburn’s Mike Mondt pull out a 4-2 win in the final match to give the Trojans a 103.5 to 99.5 edge over CV.

Champions were University’s Andy Roberts (129), Mead’s James Clark (148), Colville’s Jeremiah Divis (139), Clarkston’s Cory Thivierge (178), Lakeside’s Chris Padayao (115) and Ritzville’s Andy Hilzer (158).
