Fuhr Shares Nhl Honors

Dallas center Mike Modano and St. Louis goaltender Grant Fuhr shared NHL player of the week honors.

Modano scored six goals in two games, while Fuhr won three games with a 1.67 goals-against average last week.

New York Rangers goalie Mike Richter underwent an MRI after reinjuring his groin during the first period of Sunday’s 4-3 overtime loss to Pittsburgh, his first start since Dec. 30.

St. Louis left wing Geoff Courtnall underwent surgery to repair a fractured left thumb sustained in the Blues’ 3-0 win over Winnipeg Sunday night.
