Development Impact Fee Bill Passed By House Committee
A House committee approved legislation Wednesday allowing cities throughout the state to impose development impact fees.
However, a nearly identical bill was killed by a Senate committee earlier in the legislative session. The new bill, if it passes the House, will go to that same committee when it reaches the Senate.
“The builders and citizens felt it was important enough to continue the fight and try again in the Senate,” lobbyist Mike Kane said after the House Revenue and Taxation Committee meeting. Kane represents Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Kootenai County.
Current law allows only communities in Ada County to charge impact fees. , DataTimes
