Lancaster’s 65 Good For Lead

Neal Lancaster fired a 6-under-par 65 to take a two-shot lead over six players in the Nissan Open golf tournament in Los Angeles.

Lancaster, coming back strong from an opening 73, went to 7-under through three rounds at Riviera Country Club.

Former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett, tied for fifth after two rounds, shot a 75 and is tied for 28th at 214.

At Sarasota, Fla., Graham Marsh, Dave Stockton and Hale Irwin were tied for the lead and 14 players were within four shots after the second round of the Senior Tour American Express Invitational.

At Honolulu, Meg Mallon turned back rookie sensation Karrie Webb with birdies on the final two holes to win the Hawaiian Ladies Open title with a 4-under 212. Mallon’s 4-under 68 earned her $90,000.
