Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: We’ve all done it - put a favorite pair of cotton knit pants, stretch pants or stirrup pants into the dryer by accident.

I take two of the wooden clip-style trouser hangers, clip one to the waist of the wet pants and the other to the cuff end. I then hang the pants up to dry with a half-empty paint can hanging off the hook of the lower hanger. This weight helps to restretch the pants. - Renee Larwin, Kent, Ohio

Dear Heloise: Sure do enjoy your column and have learned a lot from it. Here is a time-saving hint that helps me.

When sewing at my machine, I hang a plastic grocery bag over the arm of my chair for the scraps of thread and material. This saves on cleanup time when the job is done. - Kathy Thompson, Grand Rapids, Mich.
