Pullman Rapist Home After Turning 21
A convicted sex offender has returned home to the Palouse.
Joshua Nathan Stillman was convicted of two counts of second-degree rape and one count of child molestation for attacks on Pullman High School girls in 1991.
He was released from a juvenile detention facility last week and now lives in Pullman.
“He has served his time, and he has no restrictions on his conduct other than having to register” as a sex offender, said Detective Ken Bickle of the Pullman Police Department.
Because he was prosecuted as a juvenile, Stillman could only be incarcerated until his 21st birthday, Bickle said. He turned 21 on Feb. 21.
Stillman also was convicted of criminal trespassing for watching women undress in locker rooms at Washington State University.
Bickle said he will periodically confirm Stillman’s address to make sure he is complying with sex offender reporting laws.
Whitman County Sheriff Steve Tomson said Stillman told him he is working to turn his life around. Tomson said Stillman was cooperative during the registration process.
“He’s an interesting kid, I don’t know how he’s going to do,” Tomson said. “I sense he does have a good understanding of the serious consequences he faces, if he does reoffend.”
Stillman lives in an apartment on Kimball Court in Pullman.
