Salt Lake at North Idaho

North Idaho (23-5 overall, 11-5 Scenic West) enters its final home stand against Salt Lake (16-12, 5-11) at 7:30 at Christianson Gym in a battle for favorable seeding in next week’s Region 18 Tournament. Utah Valley (25-3, 14-2) visits on Saturday night.

NIC’s women (18-7, 8-7) meet Salt Lake (15-7, 11-3) at 5:30.

At a glance: The North Idaho College men trail Dixie (12-4) by a game in the race for second place. The Region 18 Tournament will be held in Utah, either at Orem (Utah Valley) or St. George (Dixie). … The Cardinals, coming off a 10-point loss to Ricks last Saturday, will try to get back on course against a Salt Lake team it routed 89-66 in early December. However, North Idaho coach Rolly Williams warned, “It’s very apparent to me that they are capable of beating us.”

NIC’s women, humbled by Ricks last week, encounter the third-place team tonight and first-place Utah Valley on Saturday.
