Bsu Women Beat Gonzaga; Silva Hurts Knee
Michelle Schultz scored 30 points and Boise State compensated for cold shooting by getting 15 offensive rebounds against Gonzaga as the Broncos edged the Bulldogs 86-82 in non-conference women’s basketball Sunday.
BSU made just 25 of 68 field goals for 37 percent, well off the pace set by Gonzaga (28-48; 58 percent). But the Broncos, who trailed 38-35 despite GU’s 20 first-half turnovers, gained an added inside edge when Bulldogs center Amy Jo Silva left the game in the first half with a knee injury.
Chelsea Herman and Regan McCliment led Gonzaga (1-9) with 19 points apiece. Herman connected on 7 of 9 field goals while McCliment hit 11 of 14 from the foul line.
