Reserve Brad Miller scored a career-high 23 points and Purdue beat No. 10 Iowa 85-61 Wednesday night, snapping the Hawkeyes’ nine-game winning streak and extending its own winning streak to seven.

“It was the best game of his career. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that,” Purdue coach Gene Keady said of the 6-foot-11 sophomore, whose previous high game was 20 points against Oklahoma last month. “He passed the ball well. He rebounded, he made his shots and he made his free throws and he was really focused.”

Two-time defending Big Ten champion Purdue (10-3, 1-0) broke the game open early in the second half with a 16-4 run. Iowa (11-2, 0-1) led 41-40 and then Brandon Brantley’s dunk on a pass from Porter Roberts gave the Boilermakers the lead for good.

Brantley, who scored all but two of his 12 points in the second half, made the score 44-41 when he grabbed an offensive rebound and scored.
