Duckman Returns To Usa Tonight
The dizzy duck is still running amok. Cranky web-footed detective “Duckman,” one of TV’s most merrily subversive treats, returns for another season of animated pop culture mayhem tonight at 10. This is good news for those who enjoy a bit of loopy sarcastic wit with their cartoons.
The bad news? “Duckman,” whose frantic, neuroses-laden vocal personality is supplied by “Seinfeld’s” Jason Alexander, is surrounded by schlock on USA Network’s revamped Saturday night comedy lineup.
The insipidly sophomoric “Weird Science” (9 p.m.) is back for a fourth season of tacky teen-boy whoopee. And two equally lame chucklehead offerings, “Campus Cops” (9:30 p.m.) and “Weekly World News” (10:30 p.m.) join the goof patrol with premieres tonight.
A single comic exchange between Duckman and his porky sidekick Cornfed has more laughs than the rest of the USA Network’s Saturday night comedy lineup combined.
