Nic Wrestlers Return To Winning Fashion

One night after seeing its 44-match winning streak snapped, the North Idaho College wrestling team started another one.

The Cardinals (7-1) rebounded from a 24-21 loss to Northern Montana by edging Simon Fraser 19-18 Friday in

NIC, the top-ranked team in the latest NJCAA poll, was sparked by upsets over Simon Fraser All-Americans Steve Rose and John Mellon.

Chad Edgar was awarded a takedown in sudden-death overtime to defeat Mellon 4-2 at 142 pounds.

In the next match, Spokane’s Josh Morton, a graduate of Mead High School, earned a 5-3 decision over Rose at 150.
