Nieman, Allmaras Sizzle For Sandpoint

Seniors Alli Nieman and Tanya Allmaras split 20 third-quarter points as Sandpoint pulled away from Coeur d’Alene en route to a 63-45 Inland Empire League girls basketball win Friday night.

Nieman scored a game-high 29 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-0, 12-2).

Post Corey Hansen’s 14 points topped Coeur d’Alene (0-4, 3-11).

The Vikings sit idle until Tuesday when they visit St. Maries for a non-league game.

Moscow 65, Priest River 36

The Bears, ranked No. 2 among State A-2 teams, started slow, but yielded just four first-quarter points to the Spartans in an Intermountain League Game.

Post Stefani Reynolds helped host Moscow to a 17-point half-time advantage, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 10 of her 14 points in the opening half.

Moscow (5-0, 12-1) is at Lakeland tonight. Priest River (2-4, 6-7) picked up 12 points and 16 rebounds from forward Missy Ennis. The Spartans travel to Wallace on Tuesday.

The Badgers drilled their first six shots and never looked back as the Lumberjacks mustered just one point in the opening quarter of the IML contest.

Becky Bateman’s 15 points led the balanced Bonners Ferry (5-1, 7-5) offense. The Badgers entertain Lake City today in a non-league game.

St. Maries (2-4, 4-9) got 14 points from Bryna Reynolds. The Lumberjacks visit Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

Senior Sarah Peterson nearly outscored the entire Kootenai team as the guard poured in 31 points in a North Star League game at Harrison.

The Eagles (2-1, 10-4) played good second-quarter defense, giving up just two field goals to the Warriors.

Peterson added five assists and six steals.

Falls Christian travels to league-leading Lakeside on Tuesday. Mullan entertains Kootenai (1-2, 7-4) that same night.
