Wooden Gets A “Teddy”

John Wooden, who retired as men’s basketball coach at UCLA in 1975, was given the Theodore Roosevelt Award by the National Association of Collegiate Athletics at a banquet.

The award, also called the “Teddy,” is the highest individual honor bestowed by the NCAA.
