Pilots’ Macmillan Wins Award

At St. Louis, senior forwards Matt McKeon of Saint Louis and Shannon MacMillan of Portland were selected men’s and women’s college soccer players of the year by the Missouri Athletic Club Sports Foundation.

MacMillan led Portland, the runner-up in the woman’s tournament, to a 20-1-2 record. She had 23 goals and 16 assists.

At Milan, Italy, Liberian-born forward George Weah was voted the 1995 FIFA men’s soccer world player of the year.

At Los Angeles, former U.S. national soccer team player Eric Wynalda, who has played just a handful of games for VfL Bochum in Germany this season, agreed to a contract with Major League Soccer.
