Reed, Angle Lift Mullan

David Reed scored 15 points and Chris Angle 14 to lead Mullan to a 49-43 victory over Clark Fork in a boys North Star League basketball game at Clark Fork on Monday.

Clark Fork (1-1, 6-6) got as close as 43-41 with 1 minute remaining.

But Reed scored six of his points in that final minute of the game - all on free throws - as Mullan pulled away at the foul line.

Mullan (2-0, 9-2) had led by 14 points at halftime (28-14) after jumping to a 15-11 lead after one quarter.

Jason Stevens had 12 points and 14 rebounds for Clark Fork.

Matt Lamburth led the way for the Tigers with 13 points.

The Lumberjacks (5-6) led by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter to win at Clearwater Valley.

Ty Konkright scored 13 points and Steve Reabel 11 for St. Maries, which won despite shooting just 15 of 30 from the foul line.

The Lumberjacks had built a 28-20 halftime lead.

Clearwater Valley was paced by James Bates five 3-pointers and 18 points.

Jeremy Syron added 13 points for Clearwater Valley.

The Knights jumped up early and were never threatened while winning at Genesee.

Dan Montague tossed in 15 points and had five rebounds for Lakeside (9-3). Glen Lambert added 14 points and James Twoteeth.

Lakeside hit 41 percent from the field and converted 16 of 19 from the foul line.

Colby Aherin scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half for Genesee.
