Ranford Key In First Start For Bruins

Adam Oates scored twice and Bill Ranford had 34 saves in his first start for the Bruins as Boston defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-2 Tuesday night in East Rutherford, N.J.

The win was the Bruins’ second in four days over the Devils and it allowed rookie coach Steve Kasper’s team to head into the All-Star break in the playoff picture.

Ranford, acquired in a trade with Edmonton last week, beat the Devils for the third time in three tries this season.
