At San Jose, Calif., Elizabeth Punsalan and Jerod Swallow pulled ahead of rivals Renee Roca and Gorsha Sur in the original dance competition in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Punsalan and Swallow, the 1991 and ‘94 U.S. champions, were tied with Roca and Sur after Tuesday’s compulsory dance.
