Nbc Tops Weekly Ratings

NBC overwhelmed the week’s Top 10 with seven shows, including the premiere of “3rd Rock from the Sun,” which landed in 10th place.

The week’s other sitcom premiere, ABC’s “Champs,” arrived in 18th place. It’s the first product by DreamWorks SKG, the studio created by filmmaker Steven Spielberg, record mogul David Geffen and ex-Disney executive Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Overall for the week of Jan. 8-14, NBC was the winner in prime time with an 11.2 rating and 18 share, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday.

ABC was in second place with a 10.8 rating and 17 share. Third-ranked CBS logged a 10.2 rating and 16 share. Fox, programing 16 hours, scored a 9.4 rating and 15 share.
