Sasquatch Lose Doubleheader

Aranza Santana had three 3-pointers and 19 points to lead the Columbia Basin women’s basketball team over the Community Colleges of Spokane 51-42 Wednesday night in Pasco.

The Sasquatch (1-4 Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges, 6-10 overall) led 28-18 at the half, but struggled against Columbia Basin’s (2-3, 4-8) zone defense the rest of the game.

CCS made just four of 26 shots from the perimeter, and finished the game 19 of 55 from the field.

Also at Pasco, Daanyal McKelvey scored 18 points and Joe Kearns added 17 as the Columbia Basin men’s basketball team held off the Community Colleges of Spokane 66-53.

CCS (1-4, 8-11) trailed 26-24 heading into halftime, but the Sasquatch turned the ball over 13 times in the second half.
