Man Gets 15 Years For Girl’s Beating Death

A man got 15 years in prison for killing a 3-year-old girl by slamming her head on the floor after she soiled her diaper.

Darrell B. Curran, 46, of Lenexa pleaded no contest to murder in the death of Cynthia Vaughn in 1994. He was sentenced on Thursday.

He initially told police the girl had fallen, but later said he “snapped” and banged her head on the floor three or four times.
