Community Colleges of Spokane at North Idaho North Idaho College (17-2) and Spokane (8-12) take a respite from their respective conferences for a 7:30 meeting at Christianson Gym. The school’s women’s teams tangle at 5:30.
At a glance: Both men’s clubs are coming off narrow home losses Saturday night - NIC’s eight-game winning streak was clipped by Eastern Utah 81-79 and Spokane lost to Walla Walla 86-85. NIC whipped Spokane 94-72 in late November, but the Sasquatch played without Wallace High’s Kris Hampton (11.5 points per game), who was injured. “He played very well against us the year before,” NIC coach Rolly Williams said of Hampton, who has returned to the CCS lineup. “As always when we play Spokane, it’ll be a battle because (Coach) Sam (Brasch) does a good job.” NIC center Roy Kruiswyk is questionable due to a leg injury. Five Spokane players average double-figure scoring led by Wallace native Mark Hegbloom and Bobby Raiford of Seattle at 12 ppg. Priest River freshman Kyle York averages 10.5 ppg for the Sasquatch.
NIC’s women (13-4) have won three straight. Spokane is 9-9. NIC topped the Sasquatch 64-60 two months ago in Spokane. , DataTimes
