Ferris-Mead Matchups Top 8 Games Of Arena Madness

The first time two basketball courts were used at the same time in the Arena was like a sideshow, with the season-opening Greater Spokane League games taking a back seat.

When they return to the double courts today, there’s no question basketball is the focus.

Billed as “Midseason Madness,” tonight’s eight games include crucial battles for first as well as key games for those on the edge of the playoffs.

Featured are a pair of high-powered Ferris-Mead matchups. The girls play at 7:15, the boys at 9.

Mead’s girls (9-0 in the GSL, 12-1 overall) are ranked third in the state. Ferris (10-2, 8-1) has won eight straight league games after losing that opener to Mead, 53-33.

Ferris won the first boys game, 45-41, but lost to University three games later while Mead won its next eight league games, nine overall. Both are 8-1 in the GSL. Ferris is 12-1 overall, Mead is 10-3.
