Nominate A Special Teen For Chase Awards
The Chase Youth Commission is looking for young people who exhibit strength and character, valued by our community today and essential in our future leaders.
Nominations are being taken for the Chase Youth Awards, which honor young people in the Spokane area attending grades K-12 (or of equivalent age), or a group of youth within this age group, who have made significant contributions to their community.
Nominations are being sought for outstanding contributions in citizenship, community service, courage, creativity, entrepreneurship, environmental concern, leadership, personal achievement and the “Spirit of Jim Chase” Group Award. Recipients in each category will be chosen by a selection committee appointed by the Chase Youth Commission.
The selection will be based on the following: specific accomplishments, level of commitment and impact. All nominations must be postmarked by Feb. 13. Nomination forms are available at all public libraries, community centers and the Chase Youth Commission at City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
All Chase Youth Award nominees will be honored with a certificate from Spokane’s mayor at the ninth annual Chase Youth Awards ceremony in March. Award recipients in the individual categories will also receive a medallion and a $100 U.S. Savings Bond from Washington Trust Bank.
Now’s the chance to support the person you respect most, so pick up your nomination form soon.
