Whitworth at PLU/Lewis & Clark

Whitworth (12-3 overall, 4-1 Northwest Conference) heads to Pacific Lutheran (6-8, 2-3) for a game tonight at 8 before traveling to Lewis and Clark (9-5, 3-2) for a Saturday night game at 8.

At a glance Whitworth moved up two places in the NAIA Division II polls to No. 7 this week after splitting road contests against Pacific and George Fox. The Pirates lost to first-place Pacific 81-68 Friday and then bounced back to beat George Fox 86-75.

Whitworth will face seven of the top 27 scorers in the league this weekend alone. Erik Peterson (18.7), Seth Albright (12.1) and Brad Brevet (10) pace PLU in scoring, while Brandon Nicholson (16.9), Brooks Meek (15.6), Whitney Brake (15.1) and Jeff Flowers (14) lead Lewis & Clark… . Whitworth guard Nate Williams scored 51 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, shot 16 of 20 from the floor, committed just four turnovers and averaged 36 minutes of action in three games last week to receive honorable mention for Player-of-the-Week honors.
