College Basketball Tonight

Ricks College at North Idaho College

The Cardinals (18-2, 6-2 SWAC) entertain Ricks (11-10, 3-5) at 7:30 at Christianson Gym. The women’s teams clash at 5:30.

At a glance: As usual, Ricks loves launching 3-pointers, but top player Dave Isaacson does his damage from 15 feet and in. The 6-7 Isaacson had 40 points against Eastern Utah last week. “They’re a traditional opponent and if you look at the history between North Idaho and Ricks, you’re looking at what should be a very good game,” NIC coach Rolly Williams said. Williams said it will not be known until today if center Roy Kruiswyk (leg injury) will play.

After an 0-2 SWAC start, the Ricks women (12-5, 6-2) have moved back into contention behind three sophomores - Barbie Riley (14.1 ppg), Kris Packer (12.5) and Shelby Benson (11.4). NIC (13-4, 4-4) also has improved. “We have to stop their transition game, which means getting back on defense and being patient offensively,” NIC coach Greg Crimp said. , DataTimes
