Kellogg Start Too Much For Bonners Ferry

Kellogg jumped out to an early lead and avenged its only Intermountain League boys basketball loss of the season with a 66-55 win at Bonners Ferry.

Casey Fisher scored 19 points to lead Kellogg (4-1, 11-2) over the Badgers, who handed the Wildcats a loss two weeks ago. Bonners Ferry (3-2, 7-6) was led by Adam Hiatt with 18.

Foul shots made the difference as Kellog hit 15 of 22 from the free-throw line, while the Badgers only converted 8 of 22.

Post Falls 69, Lewiston 52

Post Falls braved bad roads to travel to Lewiston and was rewarded with an Inland Empire League victory.

The win gave Post Falls (3-1, 8-6) sole posession of second place in the league. Lewiston (2-2, 5-9) faces Coeur d’Alene tonight while Post Falls plays host to Lake City.

The Miners were down for most the game but got nine points from Ryan Nipp down the stretch to come up with a non-league victory over the Lumberjacks at home.

Wallace (6-9) took its first lead with 3 minutes left in the game and held on behind Nipp’s 19 points.

St. Maries (7-7) missed a 3-pointer with time running out that would have won the game. Steve Reabel led the Lumberjacks with 16 points.

The Knights used a balanced scoring attack to offset a 29-point performance from the Tigers’ David Reed en route to a victory at home in a battle for first place in the North Star League.

Lakeside (4-0, 11-3) led by as much as 18 points in the fast-paced game before Mullan (3-1, 9-4) cut the deficit to two points in the second half. The Knights then responded with an 8-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Lakeside got 19 points from James Twoteeth to lead five players in double figures.
