Officials Shield Seles
Australian Open tennis officials received an anonymous phone call threatening the life of Monica Seles the night before she played in - and won - the women’s final.
Seles and her family were not told of the call, according to a report in Melbourne, Australia’s Herald Sun.
The death threat was kept from Seles so she could concentrate on her tennis, but security around her was boosted.

The suit claims a breach of contract over allegations that Wilander and Czech Karel Novacek tested positive for cocaine at last year’s French Open. Both players have denied it and are suing the ITF.
