Swamped with calls since it opened this spring, the new combined Washington-Oregon state parks toll-free reservation hotline has expanded its hours.

Five new operators are online to take reservations for campsites weekdays, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., through Labor Day, officials say. Have a credit card handy when you call (800) 452-5687.

There are 35 of Washington’s 124 parks on the reservation system and 26 of Oregon’s parks. Camping at the remaining parks continues to be on a first-come, first-served basis. , DataTimes
