Motorcyclist Snatches Jewels

A thief on a motorcycle snatched a bag containing $30,000 in jewelry from the car of an American couple, the second such crime against tourists in as many days.

Robert and Diane Huber of Brentmoor, Mo., were admiring the view in this Riviera resort Sunday when the bandit caught them by surprise, police said Monday.

On Saturday, a German couple were in nearly the same location when a thief stole a beach bag containing $400,000 worth of jewelry from their Mercedes, police said.
