Local Students Will Attend Idaho Business Week

Local Bonner County youths will attend the 19th annual Idaho Business Week in Boise later this month through scholarships awarded after they were selected from applicants statewide.

Recipients are:

Clark Fork High School Nick Clason.

Sandpoint High School Nicole Rainey and Stacy Sloma.

Priest River Lamanna High School Leilani Nicole Dec, Bryan Dillon, Brianna Huffman, Buck Samuel and Casey Scott.

The Business Week program is an intense, comprehensive program designed to teach and enhance high school students’ understanding of of the free enterprise system by forming mock companies to compete in various events from advertising to the stock market.

Computer-simulated management decisions about company operations, including price, inventory production levels and research and development will also play a key role in the learning process.

Jeff Bond, Mistie Walson, Susan Moon and Jim Watkins, who are all Realtors with Kaniksu Realty, were recently recognized by the Bonner County Association of Realtors (BCAR) in a list of Top Performers compiled to recognize excellence in 1995.

Walson also received Kaniksu’s Top Gun Award for highest achievement within the agency.

These six Realtors were responsible for over $17,695,000 in total real estate transactions last year, with Kaniksu having more agents on the BCAR list than any other agency.

Contractors Northwest Inc., headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, recently won the Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Merit for construction excellence on Coldwater Creek’s new Sandpoint office building.

This recognition award was sought after by 160 projects nationwide.

Danna Rose Wilder, who will be a Moscow (Idaho) High School senior this fall, was recently selected as the 1996 Miss Teen of Idaho in the scholarship and recognition program held earlier this month in Boise.

Wilder, daughter of Dale and Donna Wilder, was selected as second runner-up for the 1997 Moscow Junior Miss Program and is a member of the National Honor Society and active in volleyball and basketball.
