Odomes Back In Seahawks Camp After Missing Two Seasons
Despite missing the past two seasons because of a severe right-knee injury, Nate Odomes is confident he will be in a Seattle Seahawks’ uniform this year.
Odomes, 30, a Pro Bowl cornerback with the Buffalo Bills in 1992 and 1993, was on the field Wednesday morning when Seahawks rookies and selected veterans opened training camp.
“There’s no doubt in my mind,” Odomes said. “I think I can play well. If you ever had a chance to talk to me when I was at Buffalo, confidence is not like my weak point. It’s not going to be a situation where I doubt myself.”
Still, the veteran of 108 NFL games has to convince the Seahawks’ coaching staff. They will work Odomes only once a day at the start of training camp.
Coach Dennis Erickson was hopeful he’d have Odomes in the secondary last season, but Odomes re-injured his knee in the second practice of camp.
“It’s really hard to tell,” Erickson said. “We’ve just got to be able to tell how he moves.”
