Dear Heloise: I have discovered a new weapon for apartment dwellers to use in the war against cockroaches!

I use duct tape to seal off the places where plumbing pipes go into the wall. Roaches cannot come through those openings from your neighbor’s apartment into yours. Duct tape is inexpensive and can be removed if the plumbing needs to be worked on. I’ve been bug-free for a month now and plan to duct tape right away in future apartments. - Lee Russell, Mesa, Ariz.
