Blazers Sign Anderson
The Portland Trail Blazers signed free-agent point guard Kenny Anderson. Portland did not disclose financial terms of the seven-year deal.
Portland also acquired troubled shooting guard Isaiah Rider from Minnesota in a three-player deal and finalized a four-player deal sending point guard Rod Strickland to Washington.
Rider had four years and $17 million left on a seven-year contract.
In addition, the Trail Blazers renounced rights to 15-year veteran forward Buck Williams, the last remaining player from Portland teams that made the 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals.
The Strickland deal, announced more than a week ago, was finalized when Washington agreed to waive a requirement that Strickland take a physical exam, Whitsitt said.
Portland also renounced the rights to Rumeal Robinson and Elmore Spencer.
The Trail Blazers re-signed free agent forward Dontonio Wingfield to a multi-year contract. Terms were not disclosed.
Latrell Sprewell, the leading scorer for Golden State the past three seasons, re-signed with the Warriors.
The contract, which was signed Monday, reportedly is for four years and is worth $32 million.
