Environmental Workshop Planned For Teachers

Teachers from throughout the region will attend a symposium on Northwest environmental history this week at Washington State University.

Native American use of plants, the impact of livestock on the environment, changing forests, and the effects of transportation on the landscape are among dozens of topics on the program. Teachers, particularly in high school and college levels, will discuss how to incorporate the topics into their classes.

The program will be held Thursday through Sunday. Sponsors include the WSU University Department of History and the University of Idaho College of Law. For information, call (800) 942-4978 or (509) 335-3530.
