Cleamons Talks Discipline

Compiled From Wire Services

Jim Cleamons can’t bring Michael Jordan with him from the Chicago Bulls.

But the new Dallas Mavericks coach with the four NBA championship diamond rings as a Bulls assistant hopes to dish out discipline, teamwork and winning ways to a longtime loser.

“Discipline is the cornerstone of my life and that’s what I think life is all about,” Cleamons said.

Discipline will help on a team that was in disarray last year because of a feud between Jason Kidd and Jim Jackson.

Cleamons, 47, is only the sixth coach in 16 years for the Mavericks. Dallas is 136-356 in the 1990s.

There were reports Cleamons got a four-year deal, but he wouldn’t confirm the length of his contract or the terms.
