Deq Will Discuss Nitrate Pollution
Post Falls and county residents interested in learning more about the nitrate contamination of public water systems near Q’Emlin Park are invited to a public meeting Thursday.
The Idaho Division of Environmental Quality will discuss its groundwater investigation and answer questions starting at 7 p.m. in the Post Falls Senior Center.
About 100 families were warned of the problem a month ago when tests showed high nitrate levels in their neighborhood water systems.
Pregnant women and infants are advised to drink bottled water until the problem is resolved. Latest tests show the nitrates to still be at unhealthy levels.
