Leonard Moreland Coeur d’Alene
Service for Leonard T. Moreland, 80, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Moreland, who was born in Virginia, died Saturday.
He moved to the Post Falls area in 1923 and attended Pleasant View School and Post Falls High School.
He later moved to Harrison, Idaho, before moving to Coeur d’Alene in the 1940s. He worked for the Ohio Match Lumber and Louisiana Pacific Mills before retiring in 1978.
Mr. Moreland was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Darlene; three sons, Jerry Moreland of Spokane, Charles Moreland of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Tom Moreland of Post Falls; one daughter, Carol Jensen of Spokane; two stepsons, Martin Brooks of Coeur d’Alene and Roger Brooks of Alaska; two stepdaughters, Sally Gamet and Donna Loudin, both of Coeur d’Alene; one brother, Bill Moreland of Florida; 38 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Maxine Doughty Spokane
Memorial service for Maxine L. Doughty, 86, was Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Doughty, who was born in Laramie, Wyo., died Saturday.
She was a registered nurse and moved to Spokane from Wyoming in 1965.
She was a member of First Episcopalian Church.
Mrs. Doughty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Doughty; three sons, Roberty Doughty of Anchorage, Alaska, Richard Doughty of Spokane and William Doughty of Sheridan, Wyo.; one daughter, Adele Gillette of Powell, Wyo.; one sister, Bernice Woodward of Seal Rock, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Lynn Beck Spokane
Funeral service for Lynn M. Beck, 56, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
Mrs. Beck, a longtime Spokane resident, died Saturday. She was born in Colville, Wash.
She worked in housekeeping at St. Joseph Care Center and had lived in Spokane for 54 years.
She was a member of Life Center Church.
She is survived by four sons, Tim Beck and George Beck, both of Spokane, Ed Beck of Moses Lake and Jim Beck of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Teressa Silver and Tammy Hussock, both of Spokane; her mother, Doris Cook of Spokane; one brother and 18 grandchildren.
Daniel Lyons Spokane
Memorial service for Daniel Milton Lyons, 84, will be at 1 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Linden, Idaho, Mr. Lyons died Friday.
He graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in architecture. In 1936 he moved to Spokane and worked for Riblet Tramway. He retired as vice president.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Men’s Garden Club.
His first wife, Alice Lyons, died in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Lyons; three daughters, Joelle Everett of Shelton, Wash., Mary Alice Ripley of Palo Alto, Calif., and Alane LyonsSpight of Concord, Calif.; one son, Glenn Lyons of Port Townsend, Wash.; three brothers, Raymond Lyons of Colorado, and Clem and George Lyons, both of Idaho; one sister, Joyce Benfell-Murphy of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Isabell McKenna Spokane
Funeral Mass for H. Isabell McKenna, 85, is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Waverly, Mrs. McKenna died Friday.
She was a longtime Spokane resident and worked at J.J. Newberry’s in Spokane and Seattle for 25 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is is survived by her husband of 61 years, George McKenna; one daughter, Doreen Givens of Alexandria, Va.; several brothers and two grandsons.

Dale Shirk Otis Orchards
Service for Dale Carl Shirk, 51, was Monday at Hennessey-Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Shirk, who was born in Portland, died Friday.
He was a longtime Spokane resident and owned Westside Service Center, Westside Towing and Hayford Station, all in Airway Heights.
He taught the Junior Silver Spurs and ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Shirk of Otis Orchards; his mother and father, Lucille and Ivan Shirk of Spokane; two stepsons, Ken and Gary, both of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Luetta of Spokane and Caroline of Kent, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
Theodore Anderson Spokane
Memorial service for Theodore E. Anderson, 95, is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central Lutheran Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral HomeSouth is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson, who died Friday, was born in Genessee, Idaho.
He graduated from Genessee Valley High School and from Northwest Business College.
He worked for Mason-Erman in Lewiston in the 1930s and at CZ Seelig Co. in Wallace and moved to Spokane 54 years ago. In Spokane he worked for Crown Zellerbach and Moen Bearing Co. and for more than 20 years was a sales representative for Spokane Memorial Gardens.
He was a charter member of American Lutheran Church in Kellogg and a member of Central Lutheran Church.
His wife of 54 years, Palma (Luvaas) Anderson, died in 1983.
He is survived by one daughter, Margaret Guy of Spokane; two sons, Kenneth Anderson of Orange, Calif., and Richard Anderson of Bellevue, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Wehr Calder, Idaho
Memorial service for Lloyd D. Wehr, 78, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at YatesHodge Funeral Home in St. Maries.
Mr. Wehr, who was born in Saskatchewan, died May 6.
He graduated from high school in Shelby, Mont., in 1936. He moved to Spokane in 1944 and served in the Army until 1945.
He returned to Spokane after his military discharge and worked as an electrician for Kaiser Aluminum until his retirement in 1978.
Mr. Wehr moved to Calder after his retirement and was a former member of the Calder Quick Response Unit. He was a member of the Family Motor Home Association and a charter member of the National Good Sams Club.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice; one son, Larry Wehr of Spokane; one daughter, Arlene LaPierre of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Mueller Waverly, Wash.
Memorial service for Eleanor R. Mueller, 72, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Mueller died Wednesday. She was born in Pittsburg, Kan.
She had lived in Waverly for 50 years and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Mueller of Spokane; two daughters, Patricia Casey of Boise and Janet Hall of Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, August Miller of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Sadie Charlene Cooney of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Raymond ‘Pert’ Woolum Kellogg
Service for Raymond H. “Pert” Woolum, 65, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Kellogg. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Woolum, a lifelong Kellogg resident, died Saturday.
He attended Kellogg High School and later Rogers High School in Spokane, graduating in 1948. He attended the North Idaho College of Education in Lewiston before returning to the Silver Valley.
Mr. Woolum worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Bunker Hill 20-Year Club, the Kellogg Country Club and the Industrial Union Bowling League, and he coached basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Bill Woolum of Oregon; two daughters, Christy of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Carol Roberts of Meridian, Idaho; and three grandchildren.

Bonnie Fero Spokane
Memorial service for Bonnie J. Fero, 76, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Victory Faith Fellowship. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fero died Thursday at home. She was born in Texline, Texas.
She was a retired restaurant owner and had lived in Spokane for 10 years.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1435.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Darrell Fero; two sons, Jim Wells of Fremont, Calif., and C.V. Wells of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one daughter, JoAnne Munro of Bellevue, Wash.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Leslie Wade Spokane
Service for Leslie J. Wade, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Wade died Friday. He was born in Portland.
He worked as a bartender and was a professional vocalist.
His wife of 54 years, Maxine Wade, preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Diana Wellman of Kent, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Madeline Messmer Newport, Wash.
Service for Madeline Messmer, 94, was Saturday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. Private burial was at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tacoma.
Mrs. Messmer, a 14-year Newport resident, died Wednesday. She was born in Richardson, N.D.
Her husband, Steven Messmer, died in 1962.
She was a Catholic.
Survivors include two daughters, Clara Hendrickson of Newport and Frances Carney of Lakewood, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Rev. L.H. Swift Everett.
Memorial service for the Rev. L.H. Swift, 83, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Truth in Everett. Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Swift died April 30. He was born in LaCrosse, Wash.
He was raised in Spokane and served in the Army during World War II.
He operated Swift Candy Service in Spokane before he began ministering. He ministered in Spokane until 1962, when he and his family moved to Everett and he became pastor of the Everett Church of the Truth.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Florence; one daughter, Diana VanNotric; several brothers and sisters; and four grandchildren.

Alice Humes Coeur d’Alene

Ms. Humes, who was born in Colorado, died Sunday.
She moved to North Idaho in 1935 from Colorado and was a 4-H leader and council member. She had worked at various restaurants in Coeur d’Alene, including Boots n’ Saddle, the Brunswick Cafe and The Iron Horse for more than 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Nelson of Enumclaw, Wash.; a sister, Cora Pearl; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

George Messer Coeur d’Alene
Private graveside service for George Messer, 83, will be today at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Messer, who was born in North Dakota, died Saturday.
He lived in Spokane for 52 years and worked at the White Pine Sash Mill and Spokane Moulding Co. before retiring in 1971.
Mr. Messer moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Florence; two sisters, Tillie Ray of Montana and Louise Hughis of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Edna Edgerton Spokane
Graveside service for Edna F. Edgerton, 88, was Monday at Riverside Memorial Park.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. Edgerton died Wednesday.
She was a 63-year Spokane resident and was a homemaker.
Her husband, Carl Edgerton, died in 1985.
She is survived by two sons, Carl Edgerton Jr. of Colfax, Wash., and Edwin Edgerton of Spokane; two daughters, Leona Bale and Sister Irene Martin, both of Spokane; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
