Bodine Finishes First

Todd Bodine was in the right place at the right time as leaders Randy LaJoie and Hermie Sadler collided and spun and he went on to win the Winston Motorsports 300 NASCAR Busch Grand National stock car race at South Boston (Va.) Speedway.

Bodine was running third, 4 seconds back, when leader LaJoie and second-place Sadler collided and spun out.

Spokane resident Chad Little finished eighth from his 31st position and earned $3,865.

Kenny Bernstein recorded the quickest elapsed time in NHRA history (4.608 seconds at 313.15 mph) to claim the No. 1 spot in Top Fuel qualifying at the Pontiac Excitement Nationals at National Trail Raceway at Hebron, Ohio.

Scott Pruett vaulted from 15th place to the pole position for today’s ITT Automotive Detroit Grand Prix.
