Man Sentenced For Tax Evasion
A Boise man has been sentenced to three years in prison for falsifying a federal tax return that netted him a $1.2 million refund.
David Hegg, 49, a former mortgage insurance executive, was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Lynn Winmill on Monday to serve a year under supervision after his release from prison.
Hegg spent $300,000 of the refund he obtained from the return filed in March 1993 before the Internal Revenue Service was able to recover the balance.
