Tribe Leaders Sue U.S. Over Trust Funds

Five Native American leaders sued the federal government Monday in an effort to get a federal judge to unravel an estimated $450 million in trust accounts that the government holds for 300,000 Indians.

The class-action suit came after numerous reports detailed the inability of government auditors to account for the funds and approximately $2 billion more held in similar trust accounts for tribal governments.
