Students Explore Future Career Options

Hard work does pay off.

It did for 14 students from Spokane-area schools who were awarded PaceSetter Awards last month for exemplary career preparation work. Each student completed 75 hours of community service, worked in areas related to their chosen career and demonstrated the ability to set priorities, perform under pressure and solve problems.

Each of the students received a certificate and savings bond.

Here are the PaceSetters: Kimberly Baird and Crystal Weatherbee, from Ferris; Jennifer (Lybbert) Chea and Ryan Gallagher, from Spokane Skills Center; Jessica Coombs and Eric Michael Davis, from University; Rhea Cox, from North Central; Tricia Rae Fry, from Pullman High School; Phuoc Xuan Nguyen and Brenda Schluter, from Rogers; Rachel Sherwood, Gloria Wood and Christopher Bush, from Shadle Park; and Ken Voss, from Mead.
