Doris Becker Moscow, Idaho

Rosary for Doris J. Becker, 99, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Galls Catholic Church in Colton, Wash. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Colton Catholic Church. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Becker, who died Wednesday, was born in Colton.

In 1920 she married Frank Becker in Colton.

She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband on the Old Butte for 25 years. They retired and moved to Moscow.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Moscow, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Moscow Grange and the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by five daughters, Virginia Dahmen and Margaret Busch, both of Colton, Mary Louise Juzeler of Prosser, Wash., Delores Ann Bryant of Golden, Colo., and Lola Little of Port Angeles, Wash.; two sons, Frank Becker of Colton and Edward Becker of Port Angeles; one foster son, Ed Shay of Olympia; two brothers Sylvester Semler of Spokane and Victor Semler of Kennewick; one sister Clara Berry of Pasco; 34 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Palouse.

Hazel Turinsky Sandpoint

Graveside memorial service for Hazel Turinsky, 79, will be today at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Turinsky, who was born in North Dakota, died Tuesday.

She moved to North Idaho in 1941 and settled in the Sandpoint area.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and was a piano instructor.

Mrs. Turinsky was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew.

Survivors include two sons, Daryl Turinsky of Spokane and Marlin Turinsky of Sandpoint; one daughter, Carolyn Turinsky-Cook of New Guinea; two brothers, Richard Still of southern Idaho and Ed Still of Priest River, Idaho; one sister, Katharyn Hamshar of Priest River; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Charlie Bledsoe Veradale

Service for Charlie E. Bledsoe, 80, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be Monday in Yakima. Mrs. Bledsoe, who was born in Texas, died Tuesday.

She was raised in Texas and moved to Yakima in the 1930s. She moved to Seattle during World War II and worked as a cook in the 1950s.

Mrs. Bledsoe was the first woman chef registered in Washington and was a member of the Cook and Waitress Union of Seattle.

In 1974 she moved to Westport, Wash., where she lived until moving to Spokane in 1988 to be near family.

She was a member of the Westport Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3057.

Mrs. Bledsoe was preceded in death by her husband, Gleyn, in 1974.

Survivors include two sons, Gleyn of Seattle and George of Burbank, Wash.; one daughter, Suzanne Rickel of Bayview, Idaho; one sister, Sarah Neil Briscoe of Texas; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Salvation Army.

Margie Mitzimberg Newport, Wash.

Service for Margie P. Mitzimberg, 87, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Full Gospel Church in Onaway, Idaho. Burial will follow at the Moscow (Idaho) Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitzimberg, who was born in Wichita, Kan., died Tuesday.

She moved to Colorado in the 1920s.

In 1933 she married Carl Mitzimberg in St. Maries and they settled in Potlatch, Idaho.

Mrs. Mitzimberg was a homemaker and was a member of Faith Full Gospel Church and the Potlatch Senior Citizens.

She had lived in Onaway, Idaho, for 29 years before moving to Newport six years ago.

Her husband, Carl, died in 1974.

Survivors include four sons, Lloyd Mitzimberg of Elk, Edward Mitzimberg of Garfield, Wash., Carl Mitzimberg of Post Falls and Raymond Mitzimberg of Elma, Wash.; one daughter, Mary Lou Kimberling of Newport; 28 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

JoAnne Phillips Spokane

Memorial service for Dorothy “JoAnne” Phillips, 58, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phillips, who died Tuesday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Ed Phillips, preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Karina McCollum of Seattle, Rebecca Hall of Spokane and Deanne Leichman of Nibley, Utah; one brother, Robert Anderson of Spokane; four sisters, Irean Delvechio and Velvagay Barranco, both of Spokane, Lois Reeder of Sandpoint and Marjorie Shaw of Newport, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Clara Broadhead Spokane

Memorial service for Clara Broadhead, 74, will be at 10 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Broadhead, who was born in Vernon Springs, Iowa, did Tuesday.

She moved to Spokane as a child and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.

In 1948 she married Ivan Broadhead.

She worked as an assembler for Columbia Lighting from 1979 until she retired in 1986.

Mrs. Broadhead was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and South Hill Senior Center.

Her husband died in 1975.

She is survived by one son, Hugh Broadhead of Spokane, one daughter, Bunny Devenere of Spokane; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John Skelton II Spokane

No service will be held for John W. Skelton II, 81, at his request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Skelton, who died Wednesday, was born in Judith Gap, Mont.

He graduated from high school in Noxon, Mont.

He retired as a switchman with Pacific Northwest Bell after 34 years.

Mr. Skelton was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a 57-year Spokane resident.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice; one son, John Skelton III; one daughter, Melanie Muzatko; one stepson, Richard Minkler; one sister, Sally Ruggles of Portland; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Mary Mull Spokane

Visitation for Mary M. Mull, 79, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mull, who died Wednesday, was born in Grouse Flats, Wash.

She came to Spokane in 1948. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurses’ aide at Rivercrest Convalescent Center from 1966 to 1981.

She was a member of Hillyard Assembly of God. Her husband of 33 years, Howard Mull, died in 1966.

She is survived by one brother, Preston Buchanan of Spokane; and one sister, Nora Wayman of Downey, Calif.

Elsie Jarvis Spokane

Memorial service for Elsie L. Jarvis, 84, will be at noon Saturday at the home of Delores and Ray Selset in Marysville, Wash.

Mrs. Jarvis, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday in Marysville, where she had lived since April.

She lived in Spokane from 1911 to 1937 and again from 1974 until she moved in April. She and her family also lived in Seattle.

She worked as a stenographer.

Mrs. Jarvis was a homemaker and was a member of the Floral Garden Club.

She is survived her husband of 63 years, Clyde Jarvis; one son, Carl Jarvis of Quilcene, Wash.; two daughters, Virginia Jarvis of Seattle and Delores Selset of Marysville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Glenn Humphrey Reardan, Wash.

Service for Glenn O. Humphrey, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Humphrey, who died Saturday, was born in Reardan and graduated from Deep Creek High School.

He was a wheat farmer for 46 years and retired in 1981.

He was a member of the Deep Creek Grange, Reardan Grain Growers and Edwall Chemical Corp.

Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Humphrey; and one brother Claude Humphrey of Reardan.
